Saturday, February 18, Stephanie Loop Ride. Ready-to-ride at 10:00. Ride is at the end of Stephanie Way in the Carson Valley. From Hwy 395 turn east on Stephanie Way. Follow Stephanie Way through the 1st 4-way stop at Vicky, past the school to the 2nd 4-way stop at East Valley, continue on Stephanie Way. The road will turn to dirt and the parking area is in about 1/2 mile. There is a big horseshoe shaped loop to drive up and around for parking, no parking fee. Ride will be approx 3 hrs and the footing is mostly good with a few rocky areas. Bring both hay & water - there are no restrooms. Brown bag lunch. This is a HTAP ride. Thursday, March 8, HDH Board/General Membership Meeting. 6:30 pm at the Round Table Pizza in Carson City. If you are ordering dinner please come early, the room will be open at 6:00. Open to all.

Saturday, March 24, Trailer Loading Clinic with a ride afterward. At Scout Camp -10:30am. Different types of trailers will be available to practice with. Several experienced advisors will be available to give demonstrations, offer assistance and advice. Here's your chance to see how your horse responds to various types of strange trailers. You never know when an emergency situation will require you to load in a different trailer. Bring a sack lunch. Open to non-members, $15 fee, $25 for non-members (per our new rules, this must be paid 1 week prior to the clinic) $5 parking fee, unlimited participants, participants may bring more than one horse to the loading clinic. ($5 fee per additional horse). Length of ride afterwards will depend on how much time we spend on loading/unloading practice. Flat, sandy footing. This is a HTAP ride. Contact Amy Casey 530-3748.

Saturday, April 7, Yerington Ride. Ride out of Brenda Rogers house, 18 Yermo Lane. Ride will be about 4 hrs on sandy washes and dirt roads, most horses that stay barefoot will do fine. Trish will have beans and cornbread this is a potluck so bring a dish to share and your own drinks. Ride out at 10:30am sharp!!! Saturday, April 14, De-Spooking Clinic. At the arena in Washoe State Park - 10:30am. A low-key clinic suitable for all levels of horses and riders. Numerous challenging obstacles & props which vary in intensity. Brown bag lunch. Follow Lucus Rd. and go straight on to the dirt road when the paved road makes a right hand turn. Coming from Fallon, go west on 50, take a right on Lucus. This is a HTAP ride. Saturday, August 25, Showers Lake Loop Ride. Will be about 4-5 hours long, hopefully the flowers will be as good as last years. Brown bag lunch at the lake. If you wish, make a weekend of it and camp-out. Camping is primitive and dry - no facilities or water - so you must bring your own. Plan on using a high-line. Trish will be camping Friday night 8/24 at the staging area where the ride will leave from Saturday morning at 9:30am sharp!!!! Please be ready to ride at 9:30, pink ribbons and signs will be at Hwy 88 at the turn, follow ribbons around the maintenance station and up the hill to park. This is a HTAP ride. Saturday, September 8, Trail Trial. Scout Camp Weeks, NV. ATTA, NQHA and HTAP approved. Registration 9am/ ride out at 10am. Open to everyone. $25 for 17 & under, $35 for adults, $20 schooling, $10 companion rider, lunch included. Placing 1-6th, Trophy buckles to high score of each division (Youth, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced). Must provide your own water, dry camping available. Saturday, October 20, Thomas Creek - Dry Pond Loop Ride. From 395/Mt. Rose Junction, go west on 431 (Mt. Rose Hwy) about 5 miles. Turn right on Timberline Rd. (just as road narrows to 2-lane). Follow Timberline until pavement ends, continue on well-maintained dirt road for about a mile, cross bridge, then uphill to paved parking on left. Bring sack lunch to eat at Dry Pond (gorgeous mountain views!) Ride is about 2 hours (6 mile loop). Trail is shared with hikers & mountain bikers (no motors) mostly single-track up and down the hill, along creeks, through aspens and pines, somewhat rocky, several easy creek crossings & one can be a little challenging.
